Used BMW X3 for Sale

A used BMW X3 for sale is an excellent option for those looking to own one of South Africa’s leading luxury SUVs at a more accessible price point. While BMW promotes it as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the X3 delivers everything expected from a compact luxury crossover: style, performance, and versatility. It’s assembled locally at BMW’s Rosslyn plant in Pretoria, adding a sense of pride to every drive.

There are currently four BMW X3 generations available in South Africa, which are:

4th Generation BMW X3 SUV
2025 – Current

Locally built and celebrated globally, the fourth-generation BMW X3 for sale was officially unveiled on 19 June 2024 and has been in production in SA since October 2024, led by the plug-in hybrid 30e xDrive. With the plug-in hybrid, BMW brings electrification to SA production for the very first time.

BMW has refined the X3’s already impressive presence by widening it by 29mm, stretching it by 34mm, and lowering it by 25mm. For even sharper handling, the suspension geometry has been reworked, steering hardware updated, and adaptive dampers are now standard on M Sport models. All G45-series X3s have all-wheel drive.

The current X3 models for sale include:

  • 20d xDrive
  • 30e xDrive (PHEV)
  • M50 xDrive – now taking the place of the outgoing X3 M40i xDrive

Did You Know? Plant Rosslyn is now one of three BMW plants that produce the entire world’s X3s and the only one that produces the new PHEV version.
