Almost immediately after it was first launched in 2003, with vehicle sales commencing globally in 2004, there was a huge demand for Used Mazda 3 for Sale. Even here in South Africa, where the Mazda brand had been known for its smaller cost saving cars, the Mazda 3 took off with a massive sales spike. The demand for both new and Used Mazda 3 has continued through 3-generations of vehicles, and in 2014 it became Mazda’s fastest selling vehicle.
When searching for Pre-owned Mazda 3 for Sale in South Africa you’re probably going to be spoilt for choice thanks to the fact that you now have 4 Mazda 3 Generations to choose from. The fourth generation models available will all be recent year models, while some of the most popular previous generations’ year models include 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. However there is also a big demand for second generation vehicles, specifically the 2012,2011 and 2010 models.

Collaboration between Mazda, Ford and Volvo resulted in the design and launch of the Second Generation Mazda 3 in 2009, although it was officially revealed a year earlier in 2008 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Although this generation of Mazda 3 was discontinued in 2013, all 2012 and 2013 models are very similar to the latest generation of Mazda 3 thanks to a 2012 update. This included the introduction of the now famous SkyActiv powertrain which has proven to be so reliable in South African driving conditions. Did You Know? This version of the Mazda3 is larger than the previous generation, although it is still classified as a Compact Car. This generation of Mazda 3 was one of the biggest selling of all time and played a major part in establishing the Mazda 3 as the brand’s global top seller in 2014. |

Originally called the Mazda Axela, the first Mazda 3 hit showroom floors late in 2003. It was immediately praised for its performance, handling, styling and comfort features and was compared favourably to many luxury saloons outside of its Compact Car Class. Earlier Mazda 3 models received 4-star NCAP Safety Ratings, but this was upgraded in later models of this generation to 5-stars after the inclusion of 6 airbags as standard across the entire range. Since then all generations of Mazda 3 have performed favourably in safety tests around the globe. Updates to the First Generation of Mazda 3 were made in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. This final update was the one that had the most visual impact, as it included the introduction of chrome door handles, a stylish new roof spoiler and offered new alloy-wheel options. Additionally, the styling changes also included the expanded use of black mouldings on the rear bumper. Did You Know? In 2006 variable valve timing and variable-length intake runners were added to the 2.0 L Petrol Engine of the Mazda 3. This boosted the performance of the engine to an impressive 112 kW of power. It is believed that this engine upgrade was one of the reasons why South Africans started to purchase the Mazda 3 in such large numbers. |

Q: Which version of the Mazda 3 is best?
A: There is such a range of versions available that it is impossible to choose the best one. The third generation offers incredible value for money, while the new Astina is popular among those who crave sophisticated power. The new 1.5-litre engine is however more than powerful for most drivers.
Q: Is the Mazda 3 Safe?
A: The latest generation Mazda 3 has the full suite of safety features and achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, while the 3rd generation comes standard with driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags as well as ABS, EBD and EBA as standard, so yes it is VERY safe. Even older model Mazda 3 Hatchbacks and Sedans come with impressive safety features which makes them exceptionally desirable.
